Corruption Knocking Door

The latest revelation by the army chief that he was offered a bribe of 14 crore for allowing the purchase of 600 substandard TATRA truck is a sign of prevalent corruption in our armed forces. Generally armed forces are associated with the national pride of our country, whose frontiers are guarding our boarder on land , water and air round the clock. The respect and regard commanded by any army officer is incomparable to any other designation, their designation is a symbol of honesty, integrity and great respect.
The shocking news of bribery by the army chief puts a question mark on the  honest and  uncorrupt  image of our armed forces.  The prevalence of corruption in the armed forces of our country is not only a threat  to our nation security but it will also bring down the morale of all those soldiers who are  guarding our nation in extreme conditions living away from their families . Any foreign power can easily penetrate our security system with the help of these corrupt lobbists, who in turn are the officers of our elite armed forces.  Substandard materials supplied to armed forces will cost the life of our soldiers in the battle field  and lost incurred will be irreversible. This news will also boost the confidence of our traditional enemies and that may lead to surge in the cross border activities provoked by those countries.
Wide spread corruption from defense ministry to armed forces is a matter of deep concern for all the stakeholders of this country who want a peaceful place to live and flourish. A complete enquiry is required to investigate all these issues and stern action should be taken against all those who are found guilty of playing with the national security. It is the responsibility of our lawmakers to make necessary changes in the system with time to keep the system clean and corruption free. People of this country wants some action by government urgently to keep their faith in the system and  government  intact.
